I CANNOT get misteamprep to detect my GCF files for HL2, HL2 Deathmatch and HL2 Episode 2 no matter what I try on my offline pc. Help?

Is not, I just checked. OK, so what program do I use to run this all straight from GCF's? (My pc is totally offline)

I saw that Valve did an update to Portal, and was wondering if there was some way to get the relevant files and manually update my install. I'm assuming it would involve unpacking some of the GCFs?

All was going fine until I started extracing from Source Materials.gcf Got a message about "unexpected end of GCF" blah blah blah... But it verified fine in Steam! So what gives?
