All the CF Toolbox does is tell you if you've got all the GCFs required for a game. If you didn't need to use it, then lucky you. But if you've got 'the first slice' and want real Portal, run CF Toolbox to see which GCF/s you need, and then download it.

With 'the first slice' it uses almost all of the same GCFs as real portal. For anyone else in the same situation, just use CF Toolbox to find out which GCFs you need for real portal and download the missing one.

How I agree with that. I recently bought an HP laptop with Vista, and within 3 hours had to restore it to factory settings: I installed Alcohol 120%, and apparently the version I had installed the Virtual Driver Emulation driver that was incompatible with Vista, so it permanently crashed...

It doesn't work any better than the UnDeadPatch, since you still can't download/install Portal, Episode 2, etc.

You need the ones highlighted there plus the 'portal' GCFs there. So you need the Source and the 2007 GCFs, plus the Portal ones. Enjoy.

To remove the Undeadpatch, simply delete the steam.cfg file and run Steam normally. It will override the files you patched. Then you can buy games normally.
