I have installed portal with all the gcfs but when i start it up it show the guy's head with the valve in it and then comes the main menu and it says loading but it never does. after like 30 seconds it closes and then it tells me Engine error Needs at least DirectX 8.0 to run Thanks

Everytime i run Half-Life i get an error saying it can find the vstdlib.dll so i dont know wat to do other than ask the people who have it to upload it and tell me where in their steam folder they found it

yea they r cracked but i tried to install half-life 2 and it worked. Its downloading right now, but im trying to download half-life, the first one and it gives me the message i wrote before
