First of aLL, I know I know.. this has been posted by some one else on the old forum.. not sure who it is, but I credit that person.. some people might not seen this, so Ill post it again.

Testing your anti virus!

AVERAGE BRAIN PROOF STEPS:

Save this code into a word pad and scan it with your AV:
X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*
Get a better anti virus if that doesn't show up as a virus to you.

NOOB PROOF STEPS:

Step 1:
Right click on your desktop, go to new, and click Text Document/Word pad Document.

Step 2:
Copy and paste this in there:
X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*

Step 3:
After pasting that code, go to file, save, and save it to what ever directory you like.

Step 4:
Scan that document with your anti virus.

If you have a good anti virus, it will show up as a virus.
If not, I suggest you get another one.

NOTE: It will not harm your computer.

Avg all the way tbo, although if anyone can get prorat working without having to unistall avg all the time then i will give you bum sex.

Kaspersky is the best man.. if you buy it, its like 4o bucks a month or something.. ( not sure ).

Avg is ugly looking, many windows, no style what so ever.. and doesn't scare you when it picked up a virus ( never get tired of that =D )

I tried using AVG before, didn't like it.. plus it scans so slow =/

But if anybody wants a 2010 key for Kaspersky PM me =D
<3

Good luck finding a good working keygen for Kaspersky.. you might find that generates maybe till 2008, but theres only one key that is out there that works till 2010.

Kaspersky is really really good but my pc started to crawl after a while so i switched over to nod32 which actually works.
AVG? it finds stuff but half the time it cant remove it its nearly as bad as norton

Like I said:

i used kapservy or however you spell the stupid name, it screwed my computer up after i scaned, i had to re-format

Either your computer is stupid or you didn't use Kaspersky.. maybe some kind of virus..

Never happened to me never will. Kaspersky ftw!

Tried Norton a little while ago, SUCK BAWLLS. Do not get it, its ugly hard to get a working CD kay, laggy and takes too much CPU.

any av that auto scans and doesn't have an option to turn it off = teh ghey

But most AV's aren't like that :p

I guess any of these AntiVirus's will work except AVG lol it Found Nothing. (Look at Online Malware Scan results)

Well... four things:

-If your AV doesn't pick up on this... it sucks (as stated)
-If your AV does pick up on this, it doesn't mean that you have good AV
-If you have advanced knowledge of any OS's, you are smart enough to know that you don't need any AV at all, and can most likely remove your own virii
-If you must use AV: NOD32 is your best bet... very lightweight, multiple scanning engines, very small process, runs and updates very discreetly

well, dont start that av war again !:p nod32 is a good av but saying its the best one out there is just not right...

Well, then scratch my fourth point. Everyone's just a little biased :p

I still stand by my original opinion: if you know computers; no AV is the best AV :)
