need help with gmod 10

ok.. i just followed a guide here on this forum on how to get gmod 10 for free.
i exctracted everything.. bla bla bla.. but i got this error that says
"Can't find background image materials/console startup_loading.vtf" or sumthin like that.. i opened the gcf file with gfcsacpe.. and i didn't see the file in that directory.. ill appreciate any help given..

Well.

1. You can't find the file in that directory for a reason probably because of this error" Can't find background image materials/console startup_loading.vtf" Der ta Der.

2. Make sure that you didn't extract garrys mod wrong or something stupid like that. If worse comes to worse Search google for startup_loading.vtf and download it, and put it in your materials directory.

well, nothing went wrong during the extraction. i checked the gcf file and it the startup_loading.vtf file ain't there. so i'll just get one then

same thing happened to me
did you to try to update with cracked steam?
i used cracked steam it updated and now it works
