damnit i got half life 2 working by reinstalling steam but css still wont work!

I did thats the problem i just got all my other apps to work except half life 2 and css. also the gmod half life 2 models are missing. when i try to open HL2 it gives me a base content error.

none of my half life 2 games work. it gives me an engine error and i cant find a half life 2 gcf cause everyone elses works from hte start. help some1

Are you sure you have the half life engine? Which steam crack are you using? Did you close steam b4 putting the files in? Did you try clicking on it when it said download starting? Try checking all these, if its not one of them then i have no idea what it is.
