GMod Crashes After Loading

Whenever I open GMod it says Loading... but then the screen turns black and it says it's not responding. I sit there and wait but still nothing happens. What's wrong!?

Whenever it crashes it says hl2.exe is not responding... I don't wanna run hl2.exe! I'm guess hl2 is Half Life 2 which I don't even whanna play, I'm clicking on Garry's Mod so I wanna play Garry's Mod.

rover i got my gmod fixed here's how. Right hit the gmod in steam labery. then hit settings. Then veryfly game of chashe..... then wait untiy it is done downloading some new stuff.

I did veryify the cache thing, and it STILL crashes and says hl2.exe is not responding... what is wrong?

I have 18 GB free and 2.00 GB RAM. Whenever I run Gary's Mod I make sure ALL programs are closed accept for Steam. Btw I am using Windows Vista.

I just did that, it did the same thing. It minized into a smaller window with only a black screen and would not respond. *sighs* Anything else I can try?

rover. Had u install half-life 2 or a source game!? IF u did plz reinstall half-life 2 and garry's mod. and/or if that dose not work move your steamaps folder in steam. Unstaill steam. And install steam again. DO NOT REINSTALL STEAM! But move steamaps folder out of steam folder.

Thank you so much, all I had to do was install half-life 2. It now works and now I will play it all night!

ANOTHER PROBLEM ._.

IT was working yesterday but now today when it's loading... it crashes and says Client.dll Init() in library client failed.

What is wrong? All I did this morning was upgrade GMod because it had to, help!

i got the same thing now. my half-life 2 download about ALL THE WAY. BUT now it says: Client.dll Init() in library client failed. It happen when a upadata out of no where came. hmmmm. Plz help me i unstall steam install steam and verfy and fragmontison.

So I am not the only one... I wonder what is causing this? Half Life 2 works fine for me, I played it for 15 minutes. And now whenever I try to play GMod it still crashes, and it started today after I upgraded GMod. Last night it worked like a charm. :/

i did a little research on the internet and i found out that LEGIT people have this problem too so its the updates fault well have to wait until garry fixes it

Lol so it wasn't only me. I feel better now. So we'll just have to be patient then.

Gary knows of the crash. He sent an updata to vaule. So maybe tomarwoy. Man i spell bad. But it will be fixed hopely. Download your updatas for garry's mod now maybe that's what it is worng
