IPv4 address shortage reaching critical stage

The shortage of IPv4 addresses has reached a critical stage, according to the registries that allocate internet numbers around the world.

The Number Resource Organization (NRO), which represents the registries, said on Tuesday that less than 10 percent of all IPv4 addresses remain available, threatening the future network operations of all businesses and organizations unless ISPs and businesses step up their migration to IPv6.

This is quite a serious issue. I figure they could keep servers on IPv4 for quite some time while giving all consumer/business network IPs IPv6 addresses. Would solve much of the problems and eliminate the changes needed for the millions of servers around the world to get reconfigured. It would just be a big mess.

This is why predicting things ahead of time is needed. Such as good business planning.
