About the Game

Killing Floor is a Co-op Survival Horror FPS set in the devastated cities and countryside of England after a series of cloning experiments for the military goes horribly wrong. You and your friends are members of the military dropped into these locations with a simple mission: Survive long enough to cleanse the area of the failed experiments!

  • Cooperative gameplay for up to six players against multiple waves of specimens
  • Persistent Perks system, allowing players to convert their in-game achievements into permanent improvements to their character's skills and abilities
  • Over 40 Steam Achievements, including “Dignity for the dead” for killing 10 enemies feeding on dead teammates' corpses and “Hot Cross Fun” for finishing off 25 burning enemies with a Crossbow

1. Unrar the game into anyfolder you want.
2. Setup the update to v1010 *
3. Setup the update v1010 to v1011 *
4. Setup RevLoader *
5. Use Garena to connect to or host a server.

*You have to browse to the KillingFloor folder you made in step 1.

Disconnect Hamachi if this one is on.
Be sure to have NOT the steam_appid.txt in the SYSTEM folder of killing floor. It must in this root folder, but NEVER in the "System".
 
he said the pass for uploading.com which would mean GoldDraK's mirror not the original rapidshare files
 
Doesn't work.

I unrared the common folder correctly to D:\Steam\steamapps so i've got "D:\Steam\steamapps\common\killingfloor" ok, and i unrared the 3 .ncf files into the steamapps, but when i'm trying to launch the game it writes :

The steam servers are currently too busy to handle your request. Please try again in a few minutes.

I precise that i use steamup!. I was used to use it with COMPLETE good files with other games, but this one is to be working really without any .gcf ? :confused:
 
Soo... this is a GCF right? soooo... shouldn't he NOT put it in common folder just the Steamapps folder?:

Steam/Steamapps/KillingFloor.GCF thats what it should be unless it's not GCF
 
if it says download starting/paused then you need an update

It's exactly that ! i saw about updating it, in the steam program but all updates are coming from official steam servers so it's pretty sure that it will never work, except if we can get the lastest update somewhere ! but when uploading a game, it'd be nice if the updates coming with wud be posted here.

How could you help ? thanks

ps: i even tried the undead patch, but didn't work as well.

It's definitively NOT a GCF. it's presented as lots of folders containing "weird" files ( lol ) and no .exe in none of these foldesrs.
 
lolz...A little confused on this...nevermind... i think i got it. sooo the original post is not what a person wanted and wanted a mirror that was a stand-alone?
 
I downloaded goldorak's released version of killingzone, from uploading.com. there's NO .exe file et NO gcf files, but 3 .ncf

So steamup! detect there's killingzone setup, but doesn't seem to find out where killingzone's folders are.
 
I'm going to download and see.

Hell i don't know why but my extraction didn't work completely i think... now i've got well an .exe file, but i tryin to launch it, there's a bug... i will try to understand what crash.
 
okay to make an archive so i can make an update for you:

1. download and install CFToolbox here: http://www.freesteam.org/forums/tools-resources/4202-cf-toolbox-v1-0-10-must-have-steamcooker.html

2. open the program. it may take a while to load. you might have to go to preferences>folders>GCF/NCF>and then navigate to your steam/steamapps folder if it doesn't find your games automatically.

3. under the GCF/NCF Files tab go to killingfloorclient.ncf. it should say something below 100% or Outdated. right-click it and go to patches>make archive.

4. if your killingfloorcommon.ncf is also outdated then you will have to make an archive for that too.

5. next you will have to upload this archive online for me so i can make an update for you. it will be located in your steamapps folder and will be named killingfloorclient.##.archive. here is a simple website to upload the archive(s) to: Free File Hosting, Free Video Hosting, Online File Hosting. Large Files and Images up to 5GB - YourFileLink.com

6. post the link for me and i will upload an update for you.

7. to apply the update you go back into CFToolbox, right-click the .ncf, go to patches and then apply update

Well... i send you my .ncf > .archive files, ok. this mean you're going to make the .archive updating... do you use a software, a website... what ? to create the update ? i can't do it on my own ?
 
i own the game killing floor so it updates automatically through steam. so since all my files are currently up-to-date i can use cftoolbox to make an update for you.

also the updates are going to be pretty large so it may take until tomorrow to upload them
 
confusing...why can't just someone upload the GCF's? OMFG I HAVE AN IDEA!!!!!

psuchris just upload your GCF's so we can download them. Upload them in parts if you have to. Simple as that right? Any problems?

Because you OWN the game right? just upload the files in steamapps folder.
 
AAAAAAAAAAh yeah ! that's what i thought exactly when i clicked onto "Download > resume"... of course i can't get the original ncf download :) because i don't have the game.

So we definitively have to count onto brave people sharing game :'( lol

Lol... if he's nice enought to use HIS time for everybody :) but yeah life would be easier with gcf et ncf files... updates all the times... aw my god ! life is done of gcf ncf and up-to-date !!
 
this game does not have gcfs! only half-life-based games are gcfs. all others you must download the whole game content and the ncfs.

to upload everything that would be 4.29gb (before compressing). i have dsl so to upload that it would take a long time. just uploading the update will take a while. sorry im just posting the update. you can download and apply it and it should work whichever mirror you downloaded the game from from this thread

Right that recent games are not gcf. except the HL-likes yeah... anyway, L4D2 was a deep mess to success to have it working, i abandonned... even with ncf, or whatever.. pffiuuuuuh...

As based in france, it's 3.20 AM here... soon going to have a wonderful sleep... yaaAAAAaaawwwning.
 
ok well the first part (1 of 3) of the update uploaded a lot faster than i thought it would (about 45 seconds) then froze at 99%. soooooooooo im still workin on it.

and i will also upload the game in full later on

I hope it wud work with the updated ncf.... otherwise, i'll delete this game version \o/ it's impossible to be so annoyed by steam ! and they'd win against us ? no no NO ! lol

Hell! i don't know what happened ! but now the killingfloor.exe launch well ! i've got the game, and STEAMUP recognize it, there is NO "waiting for updates" or something like that, but i still can't start the game from steamup.

anyway, i can't start killingfloor.exe, and even start a LAN game... but can't assure that other people could join it...

I think it's from yesterday i used some updates options in the CF Toolbox, and i saw it downloaded some files into the killingfloor folders... i'm not sure of it but now it works...

Whereas i'm pretty sure after i made these updates, it didn't work... til next reboot...

I'll set up your updates too to be sure there won't be any mistake.

Now it's okey i've got 100 % for the client and common. the sdk still outdated but doesn't matter, i don't need the sdk... however, i can't start the game from steamup. I still can start the .exe file.

anyway, have you any idea about turning the game into french ? i changed language in the ini files like fr or frt, it doesn't work...


Hmmmmmmm i've found "killing floor LANGUAGE.ncf" which language is either french, german, spanish, russia etc... there is no possibility for you to get the download and share it ? =)

1. so when you run the launcher does the game work? can you play single and multiplayer?
2. what happens when you try to run the game with steam?
3. i dont know why it only says 90.88%. (thanks for the screenshots) i will upload the full game then. sorry for all the trouble.
4. i dont think you can change the game's language. i'm pretty sure you would have to download the french version of the game and i don't have that sorry.


you may also need to download a crack to play it. try searching on gameburnworld.com or gamecopyworld.com

2.scroll down to find out the languages for killing floor
3. you see i've got the polish version... but yes when i'm trying to select it in steam it doesn't find it... and the game remains in english.

But try, if you can, to get the french version...

Otherwise thanks a lot for your help, doesn't matter if it is english (i'm not so silly with that language :D) and if you can get the 90.88% too 100% of the game it wud be nice =)

EDIT : i don't have the polish verison... no .ncf file in relation with it so... i've only got the international one. but int the "official" killing floor, in my steam game list, there are in laguage options either english or polish...

sorry it wouldn't let me download the french version. i think i had to buy the game in french or the french version i dont know why it won't let me get it. also i am having uploading troubles again :( so i'm still working on uploading the full game.
 
Aaaaah yeah okey.... i definitively think that steam is a real deep shit !! You BUY, and can't even get the game in ANY language you want ! what thieves are they !!

Well... that's a way to perform better english by having games only in this lang. =)

i know how to get the other language packs but i don't own the game maybe if psuchris lend me his account i can download the full game and upload it with the language packages.

do download other language packages you can do this through steam or cftoolbox
to do it with cftoolbox do just like what blackout said but configure your legit account in cftoolbox and it will download it

else you can do it through steam itself, with a legit client just change the language of steam itself and select your language in the properties window and it will download it

hope you understand :D
 
ah yeah really ? anyway... i'm trying to have my cousin to have the game working... he still has got the error message when launching the killingfloor.exe alone...

when he's got the probleme solved, will tell you here if lan works =) (for you and any other guy coming onto this forum) and... pity for french version :'( i'll open my english to french dico ;) hehehe
 
i found something out. look here: Killing Floor on Steam look on the right under languages. it says the only language is english. i dont know why cf toolbox said all those. for other games it shows all of their available languages on their steam game so i guess this is not available in french
