Microsoft shows first-ever revenue decline

Microsoft Corp. posted quarterly revenue Thursday that showed a decline from the previous year for the first time in its 23-year history as a public company.

The world’s largest software maker said Thursday its profit dropped 32 percent to $2.98 billion, or 33 cents per share. Revenues in the fiscal third quarter slipped 6 percent to $13.65 billion from $14.45 billion last year.
