Microsoft, Yahoo begin testing search alliance

Microsoft and Yahoo are beginning to test their combined search-advertising platform as the companies prepare to migrate Yahoo advertisers over to Microsoft's adCenter.


On Tuesday, The Wall Street Journal reported that Yahoo began "shadow tests" to see whether its customers' keyword-based search ads surface correctly through Microsoft's platform, which under the companies' search agreement will eventually power search advertising on both Yahoo and Bing.
