So I installed Steam and cracked it with the Undead patch. I then went to this thread and downloaded the file labeled "Counter Strike Source Client". By putting this in my Steam Apps folder, I was then able to download the full game straight from Steam.
My question is why don't all the game downloads available on this forum have the option of downloading just the Client file? I am on a monthly download limit, but games downloaded from Steam do not count towards that limit. So downloading a small (usually under 5mb) Client GCF, and then getting the game from Steam, is absolutely perfect for me.
If anyone could answer my question then it would be much appreciated. I'm assuming there is a reason for this, but right now it is just confusing me.
