what half life 2 do i need

You need half life 2 Deathmatch. For this you need HL2, so all in all you need HL2 or HL2 Deathmatch.
If I'm wrong correct me please.

you need half-life 2, hl2dm, and source sdk base to play most source mods, and u'll need source sdk base -orange box eiditon, and ep2 to play new orange box mods

wait iso i need to know one thing where do i download Source Sdk base because i tried downloading it from steam tools but it keeps saying server busy.

rofl you can't get them from steam with a cracked client. You need to download them from the GCF section here.

You DON'T need the Source SDK base to play Source games. There is already a thread on what you need for each game here. Please read it and use the search button next time. Thanks
