what is better

i'am going to build a computer near my bday and xmas and here is what i have so far...

Go for an i7 and a GTX 275/280 it's a good combo for a good price.

i dont know much about building computers but i would recomment a AMD Phenom X4 quad core proceser and a Nvida Gforce 8800gt or better

The phenoms are bad a core 2 quad can beat a phenom and an I7 is even better.

AMD sells processors at the lower prices than Intel but AMD's heat up too much.Also Intel's best processors(Intel i7) are more powerfull than AMD's best(Phenom II x4), so if you want max performance buy Intel, but if you want performance at a lower price buy AMD.
I prefer ATI, and also ATI launched DX11, eyefinity and HD5970 which is way faster than GTX295
